Saskatchewan just made it easier for foreign healthcare workers to find employment, and eventually transition to permanent residence status.
Discover your options to immigrate to CanadaThe Saskatchewan Immigration Nominee Program (SINP) launched an Expression of Interest (EOI) process for healthcare workers interested in working in the province of Saskatchewan. The system will help match eligible foreign applicants with Saskatchewan healthcare sector employers.
Interested candidates must submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) profile. Saskatchewan then ranks and scores qualifying profiles using their points system, which looks at a combination of:
Certain candidates with in-demand skills may be contacted through Saskatchewan’s EOI portal with details on how to apply for a job opportunity.
Applicants selected for employment from the EOI pool may become eligible to apply for nomination. Candidates holding a valid Saskatchewan job offer in the healthcare sector may qualify to apply under the International Skilled Worker: Employment Offer or the Hard-to-Fill Skills Pilot.
Saskatchewan has not put a limit on the number of EOI profiles they will accept. However, candidates may only have one profile submitted in the EOI profile.
Saskatchewan’s new EOI system is open to candidates with experience in one of the following healthcare sector occupations:

Candidates that are interested in living in Saskatchewan, but don’t have work experience in one of the eligible healthcare occupations may still be eligible under another nominee program.
Saskatchewan’s In-Demand Occupation and Express Entry streams also operate using a points-based Expression of Interest system. However, these streams do not require a job offer in the province. Instead, candidates must meet a minimum of 60 points to submit a profile.
Then, in regular EOI draws, Saskatchewan invites candidates with experience in certain occupations in demand at the time. The draws also target a minimum score requirement and usually require that candidates have an Education Credential Assessment (ECA) report.
