The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) has invited 995 Foreign Worker and International Student stream applicants in their most recent round of invitations. Candidates that have received an Expression of Interest (EOI) in today’s draw may now submit an application to the province for the chance to be nominated for Canadian permanent residence.
Today’s draw targeted candidates that have submitted an Expression of Interest profile under one of two Employer Job Offer streams: Foreign Workers or International Students.
Ontario has also targeted candidates eligible under the Regional Immigration Pilot Program. These candidates must firstly be eligible under one of Ontario’s existing Employer Job Offer streams in addition to meeting the pilot requirements. Individuals eligible under the Regional Pilot Program are not subject to a minimum score requirement.

To be eligible for the Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker or International Student stream, candidates must have a full-time, indeterminate job offer in Ontario.
Foreign Worker candidates must have at least 2 years of cumulative full-time, skilled work experience obtained within the last 5 years. This work experience must be in the same NOC code as the occupation listed on their Ontario job offer.
If a license is required to practice in the profession indicated on the job offer, the applicant must also hold a valid corresponding license, certificate, or authorization.
The employer must also meet certain wage, recruitment, revenue and other business requirements.
Those wishing to apply under the International Student stream must have also completed a qualifying education credential at an eligible Canadian college or University.
Being eligible to enter the Expression of Interest pool of candidates does not guarantee an Invitation to Apply (ITA). Only candidates that meet draw specific requirements will be invited to apply to Ontario for nomination. Once a candidate receives an invitation, they have just 14 calendar days to apply for nomination. At this time, candidates must remit an application fee of up to $2000 CAD (depending on the region of the offer). Upon receiving a nomination, successful applicants may subsequently apply for Canadian permanent residence.
Ontario’s Regional Immigration Pilot is a two-year pilot program designed to help fill labour shortages and support economic growth in select rural and small communities. To be eligible, one must have a full-time and permanent job offer from an employer in one of the select pilot communities. In addition, candidates must meet the criteria for one of Ontario’s Employer Job Offer Categories.
Ontario has set aside 150 nomination spaces for this pilot program this year (of a total 8,600 nominations allocated).
