The latest draw held by British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) issued invitations to individuals eligible under five Skills Immigration and Express Entry streams,

  • SI – Skilled Worker
  • SI – International Graduate
  • SI – Entry Level and Semi-Skilled
  • EEBC – International Graduate
  • EEBC Skilled Worker

The Skills Immigration Stream is a collection of immigration pathways within the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP).

BC’s nominee streams offer a route to Canadian permanent residence for workers and graduates that wish to live and work in the province permanently. Most Skills Immigration programs require candidates to hold a valid job offer with a BC employer.

Earlier this month, British Columbia released its latest Labour Market Outlook (LMO), which forecasted one million job openings in BC in the next decade. The LMO indicated that new immigrants will fill 34% of jobs, offering a promising landscape for prospective newcomers.

Targeted BC PNP draw: 15 invitations

This separate draw targeted candidates with experience in NOC codes 0621 (Retail and wholesale trade managers) and 0631 (Restaurant and food service managers). BC began these draws in order to balance labour market needs across sectors in the province. As labour market needs evolve, draw requirements may change.

Express Entry BC categories (EEBC) minimum SIRS score:

  • Skilled Worker: 125
  • International Graduate: 125

BC Skills Immigration categories minimum SIRS score:

  • Skilled Worker: 125
  • International Graduate: 125

General BC PNP draw: 145 invitations

The following BC PNP draw targeted all other NOC codes.

Express Entry BC categories (EEBC) minimum SIRS score:

  • Skilled Worker: 125
  • International Graduate: 111

BC Skills Immigration categories minimum SIRS score:

  • Skilled Worker: 112
  • International Graduate: 98
  • Entry-level and semi-skilled: 77

How do BC PNP EOI draws work?

Candidates that meet the requirements for BC’s Skilled WorkerInternational Graduate, or Entry Level and Semi-Skilled Worker pathways can submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to the province. Once a candidate creates an EOI profile, they are ranked by the province’s Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS) and given a “SIRS” score. The highest-ranking candidates will receive an invitation from BC to apply for nomination. After receiving an invitation, candidates have 30 days to prepare and submit their online application to the province. Nominated candidates are then invited to apply to the federal government for Permanent Residence.

When is the next BC PNP draw?

The BC PNP usually holds nominee draws every Tuesday evening. Each week, BC alternates between general draws and BC PNP Tech draws.

The next BC PNP draw is expected on March 1st, 2022, targeting BC PNP Tech candidates.
