Transport Canada has confirmed that flights coming from Morocco will continue to be suspended until October 29, 2021.
The flight suspension from Morocco to Canada had initially been implemented at the end of August 2021 until September 29, 2021. However, Transport Canada has recently announced that they will be extending the suspension to help manage the number of COVID-19 cases and reduce the risk of spreading variants.
Travelers coming from Morocco to Canada via an indirect route will need to secure a negative pre-departure COVID-19 molecular test from a third country prior to arrival in Canada.
All travellers must still be eligible under one of the current travel exemptions to come to Canada. As of Sept. 7, anyone fully vaccinated with one of Health Canada’s approved vaccines can enter the country for non-essential purposes given that they follow additional COVID-19 screening measures.
To be considered fully vaccinated, travelers must have received the full series, or a combination of vaccines, 14 days prior to departure. The vaccination information must have been submitted via the ArriveCAN app or website. Travelers must also provide a molecular test result taken no more than 72 hours before their scheduled departure flight, and taken another test upon arrival.
