The British Columbia Nominee Program (BC PNP) invited tech candidates with a profile in the BC PNP Expression of Interest (EOI) pool.

BC PNP’s latest draw issued invitations under the BC PNP Tech program, to candidates eligible under one of four pathways of the Skills Immigration and Express Entry streams,

  • SI – Skilled Worker
  • SI – International Graduate
  • EEBC – International Graduate
  • EEBC Skilled Worker

The British Columbia Skills Immigration Stream is a collection of immigration pathways within the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP).

British Columbia’s BC PNP Tech program provides weekly draws and prioritized processing for individuals with a BC job offer in one of 29 tech occupations.

This is the second draw BC PNP has held this year. So far, a total of 840 candidates have been invited in 2022.

BC PNP Tech draw: 126 invitations

Express Entry BC categories (EEBC) minimum SIRS score:

  • Skilled Worker: 80
  • International Graduate: 80

BC Skills Immigration categories minimum SIRS score:

  • Skilled Worker: 80
  • International Graduate: 80

Do I need a job offer for BC’s Nominee Programs?

Unless you are eligible for BC’s International Post-Graduate category, you will require a job offer and support from a BC employer to qualify for BC PNP Skills Immigration. However, candidates may not require a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) for BC immigration. The British Columbia’s Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) offers work permit support letters to successful nominees, which can be used in lieu of an LMIA.

What is the benefit of BCPNP Tech?

In an effort to recruit more tech workers to the province, BCPNP holds weekly draws with consistently lower points requirements than non-tech draws. Those with a qualifying tech job offer benefit from faster application processing times and are overall in a stronger position to receive a nomination that is processed more quickly than non-tech candidates.

How do BC PNP EOI draws work?

Candidates that meet the requirements for BC’s Skilled WorkerInternational Graduate, or Entry Level and Semi-Skilled Worker pathways can submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to the province. Once a candidate creates an EOI profile, they are ranked by the province’s Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS) and given a “SIRS” score. The highest-ranking candidates will receive an invitation from BC to apply for nomination. After receiving an invitation, candidates have 30 days to prepare and submit their online application to the province. Nominated candidates are then invited to apply to the federal government for Permanent Residence.

When is the next BC PNP draw?

The BC PNP typically holds nominee draws every Tuesday evening. Each week, BC alternates between general draws and BC PNP Tech draws.

The next BC PNP draw is expected on February 8th, 2022, targeting all BC PNP candidates.
